Tell us a little bit about the company you are working for and why you started working there?
Svartinge GC is the first and only private club in Sweden. Which means we only allow members and member guests to play on the course. Our main priority is for all our members to be able to come to the club and receive a tee time without having to pree-book it, which is the way we like golf to be played. This is my first job as a Director of Golf, I previously worked in the media industry, where I was the editor in chief and the director for the magazines ToppHälsa and Amelia. One of my former bosses told me that Svartinge was seeking a new Director of Golf, which caught my attention. My strengths as the new Director is that I am very ambitious, I know golf and I know how to run a successful company and how to maintain a strong brand. The most important ingredient for me is that the staff have a good time at work and give the best possible service to our members.
How did you start playing golf?
My mom and dad brought me to Timerå GK, located just on the outskirts of Sundsvall. We had dinner at the club and practiced on the driving range every Sunday. I was ten years old when I picked up a golf club for the first time and since that day I am hooked.
What has the game of golf meant to you as a woman?
It has meant the world to me. I spent my pregnancy days on the course and then I brought my new born on to the course as I was on maternity leave. I have played competitions, found new friends, won and lost matches, hit many good and bad shots and eaten hundreds of hot dogs. I will always be grateful for all the friends I have gained through this game. The golf course has also been the perfect place for me to relax and stress down after a hectic day at work, it is such a peaceful place.
What is your best golf tip?
My best golf tip is to have custom fitted golf clubs and spend a lot of time practicing your short game.
What do you do when you don’t play golf?
I do crossfit exercise and drive my children to hockey, soccer and field hockey practice. I cook food with my fiancé and watch a lot of golf on TV.
If you could play any course in the world, which one would you pick?
After all the hours I’ve spent in front of the television watching the Masters, I have to say that Augusta is my dream course. I would also like to play Pebble beach, where I once bought a towel and at least got to see the course up close.
Your favorite Daily clothes?
Heat tights are my favorites, it really like that the golf fashion as become more relaxed cause I really like to play in tights.
